Lumay Gomez

Lumay Gomez

President

4th Year, Northeastern University

Hi I am Lumay Gomez, a senior at Northeastern University studying Political Science and International Affairs and I am super excited to serve the community as the President of the CSA this year. I grew up in a couple different places but Houston, TX is the place I call home. Over these past few years, the Catholic Center has also become my home. I have been blessed with some amazing sisters and brothers that have walked with me and helped change my heart. The Lord has used the CC to challenge me to grow in faith and love. I am looking forward to continuing to pursue the Lord along side y’all. Some of my favorite activities are laying in my hammock, exploring the city, ice skating, playing guitar, and so much more! Lastly I have a passion for coffee and am always willing to make time to sit down at one of the hundreds of coffee shops in Boston and enjoy a good conversation.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5

Taryn Ross

Taryn Ross

Vice President

4th Year, Northeastern University

Hi! My name is Taryn and I’m in my fourth year (of five) studying Civil Engineering at Northeastern. After meeting me you’ll quickly learn that I am proudly from Central Jersey and slightly obsessed with Broadway musicals, bridges and the many dogs that live near the Catholic Center! I’m also overjoyed to have the opportunity to serve as your Vice President this year. The Catholic Center has become home to me over these past 3 years, and I’m looking forward to giving back to the community that has brought so much light and love into my life! Oh, I also use a ton of exclamation points… so be prepared for that! And for a great year pursuing the Lord while growing in faith and friendship together!

“But as for me, how wonderful to be near God, to find protection with the Sovereign Lord and to proclaim all that he has done!” -Psalm 73:28

Hunter Kirkman

Hunter Kirkman

Secretary

2nd Year, Northeastern University

Hey everyone! My name is Hunter and I’m studying mechanical engineering at Northeastern. I am from Newtown, Connecticut, and I’m the third in a family of five children. Some of my favorite things include mint chocolate chip ice cream, ultimate frisbee, backpacking, watching movies, and listening to music. The Catholic Center has become a second family for me, and I am so grateful to be able to walk alongside you all as we pursue Christ together. I’m pumped to be serving as secretary this year and I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us!

“For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45

Anthony Wilkinson

Anthony Wilkinson

Treasurer

4th Year, Northeastern University

Hello! I am a senior studying mechanical engineering at Northeastern. I am from Lynnfield, MA (about half an hour north of Boston) and am also the third in a family of five children. I first came to the Catholic Center for a free pasta dinner my freshman year and I haven’t stopped coming since! When I’m not at the Catholic Center, you can find me wrestling, snowboarding, or playing the trumpet. I am so blessed to be part of such a fantastic community of faith, and am excited to serve you all as treasurer this year!

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
– Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23

Jasmine Nguyen

Jasmine Nguyen

Publicity Officer

3rd Year, Northeastern University

Hi friends! My name is Jasmine Nguyen and I’m going into my 3rd year at Northeastern! I’m studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Graphic and Information Design (aka between engineering, art, and my passion for the Catholic Center, I don’t get much sleep). I am a true Bostonian and have loved the city so much that I stayed for college! Some of my favorite things include boba, video-editing, Viet food (or any food tbh), journaling, napping, and quoting various memes. On a typical day at the CC, you’ll find me either running around with a curly redhead, holding a camera, or in the chapel having J&J time (Jasmine & Jesus). My heart goes out to all who have yet to meet the Lord and understand how much love and mercy He has for us. The Lord has blessed me with a community of people that genuinely love and care for me and I wish everyone would know how welcome they are here. Trust me when I say that we have your back and we want to fight for you. Wherever you are in your faith, come grow with us! You are so loved!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
– 2 Corinthians 12:9

Howdy folks! My name is Nuno and I am a Computer Engineer at Wentworth Institute of Technology, bringing. Despite being born in 2000 and growing up in Massachusetts, my vocabulary draws way too much influence from everything except my own state and age group. Don’t be shy about asking me what “bodacious” actually means if you get lost. I am grateful to have spent two years with the Catholic Center and grown massively in my faith thanks to the Lord and the folks around me!

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
– Matthew 17:20
